CATO Officers

Eric Henderson picture

President

Eric Henderson  is a certified Level 2 HPR flyer and another scratch-builder (What, don't any of these guys support the kit manufacturers?) and seems fond of scaling classic kits. Eric also seems to have an aversion to parachutes, however that is another story. Eric works in the Audio-Visual equipment industry and makes his home in Colchester, CT.

Brad Oestreicher picture

Karen Gloer picture

Sectretary

Karen Gloer  has been flying rockets for just a few short years (after many years of supervising Al) and recently earned her Level 2 certification. Karen is also the sole owner/operator of CATO-Chutes and the driving force behind the CATO Grill. Karen has a peculiar fondness for "rescuing" rockets other flyers no longer want.

It shall be the duty of the Secretary to keep a true record of the proceedings of all meetings of CATO and of the Board of Directors; to file all documents, records, reports, and communications connected with the business of CATO; to notify each member of CATO of every meeting of CATO, and each member of the Board of Directors of each meeting of the Board; to attend all meetings of CATO, and in case of inability to attend any meeting, to cause the necessary books and papers to be conveyed to the place of the meeting.

Ray DiPaolo picture

Treasurer

Ray DiPaolo  is a certified level 2 HPR flier who finds the whole idea of a rocket kit puzzling. Builder of the famous rice-rocket series, Ray is an avid scratch-builder who seems to live by the credo "But that's already been done". Ray spends his non rocketry time doing odds and ends involving computers and would be happiest if he could find an outdoor data center someplace that requires snow shoes to get from his parking place to the office. Ray has actually published a book on great snow-shoeing in Vermont (or New Hampshire, or someplace else cold). Ray can be found in Pawcatuck, Connecticut if all else fails.

Someday, there will be a picture of Sean here. Bet you can't wait!

TRA Prefect

Sean Hogan is our new TRA Prefect and is a past president of CATO. And if Sean doesn't get the webmaster a short bio and a picture, I will start making stuff up (which, I am sure, will be more interesting that Sean's actual life).

Al Gloer picture

NAR Section Advisor

Al Gloer is BAAAAACK! This time as the NAR Section Advisor. (Guess he missed the board meetings!) Al is a certified level 3 high power flier, a TARC Mentor, and a past president of CATO. Al is a hard core fins and nose cones kind of guy (he refuses to admit a saucer does not have either). Al is an information systems architect in a major North East heath care system Al lives in Rocky Hill, CT.

Ross Tracy picture

Director at Large

Ross Tracey  is a long time level two high power flier and strong advocate of rocketry in education. It should be noted that when not flying rockets Ross has a fondness for flying his own airplane. The club officers have stated that Ross is an acceptable sporting target. Ross is also a TARC mentor. By day Ross is a PhD. Biologist who is providing scientific education in the pharmaceutical industry. Ross hails originally from somewhere in Canada, ands hangs out in Niantic, CT between launches.

Dave Cannell picture

Director at Large

Dave Cannell  is an L1 fliter who got his certification with the scratch built tube-tail Orange Blossom Special (sadly lost later at URRF). Dave may have been the first flier to certify on CATO's home field in Durham after we started flying high power. When not making up strange names for his rockets, Dave lives in Manchester and is a Sys Admin for some VMS computers [ed. you mean someone still runs VMS!?!?]
